Hey guys! I've been playing GW on and off for the past 5 or so years, but I only have 11 points in the calculator right now. Will it be hard to get up to 22 by the time GW2 comes out? I'm not very good at the game...

You have tons of time. Just look at what needs to be done. Then figure out your best way of getting to how many points you need.

It's probably 6 months + anyways

yes you should have plenty of time---and it also depends on what you already have....some stuff just requires plat/mats to get while others require finishing stuff (you might have more than you think--have you taken all of your characters to the HoM and gone to the honor monument to see what you have--).
minis and armor are pretty easy, if you finished prophecies and most of eye you should be able to get the oppressor weapons and/or destroyer ----

You need to find an active guild to join (Guild Connections section), so you have people to work on completing mission/bonus and other titles like skill capping.

You will need to play on a regular basis to accomplish your goal. Also, you can continue to work on your HoM after GW2 is released.

It's the first and only longbow

The other is a shortbow

But like others said, its very easy to get it. Just get all the needed heroes and pets (or make the 20 amount) by finishing the campaigns and give them armor (all remnants from nf are easy to get and cloths of the brotherhood are easy aswell), add a few mini's, and all armors except obsidian perhabs since its quite expencive. Then get legendary guaridan, legendary lb + ss and some of the EotN grind titles, and you will be way past it. Can be done within a month or 2 perhabs 3 when starting from blank (assuming you do know how skills and everything work

Hi there,

Yes you will be able to achive your target by playing the game.

Make sure your Hom is set for account wide first of all.
Then see what armour you have on each char if its elite then it counts .

your accompliments ie protector,guardian ect are counted so display the Tapestry and enter the ones you have.

On the right side of the calculator you will also see what you require to top up some points once you have all your chars accomplishments displayed.

select form the list shown what char is closest to the title ect then play that one to complete it

When you play through heart of the north you as was said obtain medals of honor to obtain wepons that can be displayed.

You can even use one char or 2 to get those and gift one to your other char ie once your other char has it then only then dedicate the wepon thus all your chars can have an Oppesor wepon.

Dont get conned into selling of war supplies ect as these can be made into medals also so hang onto them as 1 stack will get you a wepon also.

So in all you have plenty of time to even take all your chars through the game by selecting the one thats near to completion of a title.

Heros armour is not to bad to obtain also that counts so you can use various chars to obtain the cloths and can either give to 1 char or split them.

as a casual player with a very inactive guild I have 28 points only real grinding I have done was maxing the norn and vangaurd title tracks. As being a casual player I don't have a lot of funds to just buy stuff however there are somethings that is fairly easy to do to get some points in the hom calculator such as getting the black moa chick mini for the unique mini if you don't have one already as well as getting some of the cheaper prestige armors. Also it is fairly easy to get some of your nightfall heroes armor upgrades (the five that use the stolen sunspear armor I was able to farm in roughly 2 hours total. Also keep in mind that the calculator totals all characters on your account.

I've played very casually for 5 years and hen the HoM calculator was released, I had 12 points. By the end of the day, I had 21. (now up to 25 and can get my 30/50 in a day if I wasn't so lazy)
If you've played through all the games, then its rather easy to get in the low 20s. Most of the points will come from things that you've just been putting off (armor for heros, pet statues, UW/FoW/Sorrow's Furnace/an elite armor here or there).

If you send me a private message with your character name, I can see what you have already and give you a list of easy things that can be done in a day or 2.

It obviously depends a lot on your finances. Most of the points can be obtained pretty quickly via the pets, armors, weapons, and hero armors.

What have you got done so far? That's the most important thing to know, along with how much money you have to sink into your HoM. I was at 21 when the HoM came out, I'm currently at 34 points. I can probably hit 40 pretty easily.

Easy points would be to beat every campaign and get the Protector titles for each, collect all of your birthday minipets and do the scavenger hunt to get the Mini Black Moa, do War in Kryta and Hearts of the North for a couple of Oppressor weapons, do the challenge missions for Hero armors, try and level a pet to 20, and do the Black Moa quest in Factions to get a Black Moa (as it's a rare pet and gets its own statue, and it's much easier than getting the spider in UW, unless you get a run). With the money from playing the campaigns and doing the challenge missions, as well as salvaging materials, you should be able to (or be close to) get an elite armor set. Do the dungeons in EOTN, as they have a good chance of dropping diamonds and onyx from the end chest, which are used for Destroyer weapons.

I know it sounds like a lot, but if you've already finished the campaigns, chances are you've got Master rewards on several missions already; go back and clean up the ones you may have missed, and also be sure to check out the Zaishen quest schedule. If you've been playing for five years, then you should have a fair number of minis already, and any doubles you have can be sold to fund armor and weapons. Stuff like that. There are also certain titles that do not need to be maxed to be added to your HoM, which is nice.

That's how I did it miniPets first I had a ton of them all on a mule character that gave me a good start.

Animal companions next then armours my money was vaporising fast so I did a load of wik quests for the weapons and money.

Zeishen quests esp when they led to me completing all the missions plus bonuses.

friends helped me with a few titles and I am on track for 30 points as soon as I can get my kurzic points up and get the armour.

I don't expect GW2 before winter comes so you should be fine.

Do all the missions and dungeons in NM and HM. This has the benefit of giving you a few titles for the Honor monument, providing rep for some of the other titles and getting you a little cash (enough for an elite armour or two). When a Zaishen Mission or Bounty that you haven't done comes up, do it.
Vanquishes are also fairly straightforward if a little tedious.

Then just do the WiK on a few characters for some Oppressor weapons. Use any Diamonds and Onyx Gemstones you gain from dungeons to buy Destroyer Weapons.
Minis come from Birthday presents, hero armours can be obtained rather easily. The Shadow Nexus and the Corsair Guild Hall (can't remember the outpost name) ones are easy enough and doing Slaver's Exile should get you a Deldrimor Remnant. Grind out or outright buy remainders if you care enough. Getting all the pets is really easy.

Tormented Weapons aren't necessary. The more stupid titles aren't necessary. Obsidian Armour, Vabbian or Kurz/Lux armour aren't necessary. A complete mini monument is not necessary.

A 2011 release for GW2 is optimistic in my view, so you should have plenty of time.

Sorrow's Furnace can be easily hero/henched, that will get you another title and a gold.....err.....green mini pet (be sure to get the required incubated egg first).

Nah, the skill hunter title costs too much gold and time. Very dependant on finances and requires the effort.
Armour sets cost a lot (proph ones are probably around 75-100k depending on mat costs and if you get the headpiece), but once you've got the capital to front it, you get the reward instantly. Armour sets also have uses in gameplay, the skill titles don't.
But meh, if you want it, go for it.

You can get the egg hatched after Final Assault. After completing final assault you can skip right to the Forgeman.

So does one or two platinum spent every time a skill update that changes anything meaningul.
